Social Impact Fundraising: Adapting to the Evolving Reality for MENA NGOs
The donor landscape is undergoing a discernible shift. While institutional grants remain a cornerstone of funding, we are observing an increasing emphasis on diversification strategies, demonstrable impact, enhanced transparency, the cultivation of digital engagement, and a recalibration between local and international funding sources. You can delve deeper into this topic in our recent LinkedIn Article.
Strategic Foresight: Introducing Our Advisory Board
Having marked eight years of impactful operations and the successful completion of hundreds of projects, RPS MENA is strategically positioning itself for future growth and expansion through the establishment of an Advisory Board. This board will comprise a select group of trusted advisors and seasoned experts who will collaborate closely with our executive team. Their guidance will be invaluable in navigating new markets, unlocking fresh insights, and proactively addressing potential challenges in the years ahead. We anticipate sharing exciting announcements regarding the composition of our Advisory Board in the coming months.
Harnessing the Power of AI for Social Impact
Artificial intelligence has rapidly become an increasingly significant aspect of our lives, and we foresee its impact and relevance only growing with time. Recognizing this transformative potential, we are actively integrating AI into numerous aspects of our training programs, spanning areas such as Fundraising, Proposal Writing, M&E, and Project Management. Furthermore, we are collaborating with a specialized AI firm to develop bespoke AI for Social Impact training programs, as well as innovative AI tools designed for Organizational Assessments, M&E processes, and more. We will be sharing further updates on these exciting developments as they unfold in the coming months.
Democratizing Learning: Our NGO-Focused eLearning Management System (LMS)
Drawing upon our extensive experience in developing and delivering impactful training workshops and courses, we recognize the immense value in democratizing learning to reach a broader audience and enhance cost-effectiveness. To this end, we are developing both custom-tailored LMS solutions for specific NGOs, featuring courses designed to benefit their teams and beneficiaries, as well as our public LMS platform, which will host a diverse range of training modules and courses. We are committed to offering a blend of free and temporarily discounted content. We invite you to explore our beta LMS to gain insight into our work in progress, with much more on the horizon. Our NGOs & Social Impact Training Catalogue
Responding to the increasing demand for tailored training programs and the need for clear articulation of RPS MENA’s capacity-building expertise, we have compiled a comprehensive training catalogue. This resource is designed to provide our partners and clients with a clear understanding of the diverse ways in which our team can support their capacity development goals. We encourage you to explore the catalogue and reach out if you identify any programs that align with your team’s needs. Link: RPS MENA Training Catalogue
Introducing OMCAM: Our Organizational Maturity & Capacity Assessment Model
The non-profit sector currently utilizes various Organizational Capacity Assessment Tools (OCATs) to evaluate the operational strengths and weaknesses of NGOs. While these tools offer valuable insights, they often apply a relatively standardized set of expectations, overlooking the critical factor of an NGO’s stage of development. We have observed a significant disconnect between assessed capacity and an organization’s actual maturity level, which is shaped by factors such as age, size, scope, budget, and operational complexity. This misalignment can lead to unrealistic expectations, inadequate support, inefficient resource allocation, and limited opportunities for meaningful benchmarking.
Recognizing this critical gap, we are developing an innovative Organizational Maturity and Capacity Assessment Model (OMCAM) that integrates organizational maturity as a key contextual factor. This framework will provide context-specific capacity benchmarks, fostering a more realistic and developmental approach to strengthening NGOs. For those interested to join us in this research and the development of this tool, please reach out.
Internationally Certified Training Programs
Academic Partnerships
To further enhance our expanding portfolio of training and coaching offerings, and in alignment with international best practices, we are actively engaged in discussions with leading universities, particularly their executive and continuing education units/centers, to explore collaborative program development and delivery. These discussions involve multiple universities across our key regions of interest, including Lebanon, Iraq, and others. Stay tuned for some interesting announcements by Q3.
Growth in the GCC
Building upon our established and successful collaborations with several Big4 consulting firms, international training providers, and valued partners in the GCC, RPS MENA is strategically expanding its focus beyond the development sector in these dynamic markets. We are actively collaborating on consulting and training programs that address national priorities with governments, multinational corporations, and government-funded initiatives. Considering the confidentiality of such programs, we can not disclose much, but we can say we have been having fruitful discussions and plans being set in UAE, KSA, and Qatar in the last couple of months. Whether it is things related to their national visions and transformation programs, to strategic planning, to youth entrepreneurship and social impact, we are cooking multiple programs in various sectors.
Looking Ahead: Regional Expansion
As regional dynamics continue to evolve, RPS MENA is strategically positioning itself for potential expansion into key markets including Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Egypt, Sudan, and Libya. So, if you are an organization, or know of one in those countries, and would like to discuss potential collaboration, let us know as we started our mapping of partners in those countries.
We are indeed navigating exceptional times characterized by significant change. While some may perceive this as a period of challenge and a struggle for survival, we at RPS MENA view it as a profound opportunity for growth and a catalyst for evolving beyond the status quo.
We wholeheartedly invite you to join us on this exciting journey of progress!
